Thunderstorms swept through Louisville Friday afternoon, causing a weather delay at Churchill Downs. As a result, several races, including the Kentucky Oaks, were pushed back.
Around 4:30 p.m. ET, the heavy rain started and patrons were called in from the infield.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the rain subsided and things got back in order. The Kentucky Oaks post time as been pushed back to 6:20 p.m. The Oaks will be the 12th race of the day at Churchill Downs.
Rain is expected to be in the area overnight and could come down on Kentucky Derby day Saturday, but should clear as the day goes on.
