The good news for NASCAR fans is that while the crash involving Eric McClure during today's Aaron's 312 at Talladega was tragic, there are apparently some good signs coming out via Twitter. NASCAR is reporting that the driver was alert and responsive.
NASCAR: Eric McClure was "conscious, alert and talking to the attendants when he was transported down to (UAB)."

McClure was involved in a nasty accident that scared many around the NASCAR community at first. He had to be taken out of the car and then was removed on a stretcher to an ambulance to be taken away. Fortunately these first signs are good although no official word will be known for a while as he's taken to the hospital and checked out.
