The suddenly red-hot Missouri Tigers are playing like an SEC team a season before they officially become members of the Southeastern Conference: The sub-.500, 32-36 Tigers won the Big 12 Conference Tournament and an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals, where they'll open up as the No. 4 seed in the Tucson Regional against host school Arizona, ranked No. 8 nationally.
Mizzou made a perfect 4-0 run through the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City last week, including a 12-2 eight-run mercy rule win over rival Kansas a week after the Jayhawks took two of three against MU. Arizona (38-17) has won eight of their last ten and are co-champions of the Pac-12, good enough to earn a national seed and a potential Super Regional host bid if they can win this weekend's Regional.
The winner of this game will face the winner of Louisville vs. New Mexico State on Saturday afternoon.
