2012 NCAA Regionals, Missouri State Vs. UCF Update: Game Delayed By Storms In 9th, Bears Trail 2-1

Missouri State's NCAA Tournament opener against UCF has been delayed with the Bears trailing 2-1 and three outs away from defeat. The lightning delay in Coral Gables, Fla., occurred at 4 38 p.m. ET.

A look at the radar shows that the game might not resume for quite some time.

UCF opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Ronnie Richardson hit a solo home run. Richardson is 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Missouri State tied the game in the top of the seventh on an RBI-single from second baseman Kevin Medrano, who is 1-for-4.

But UCF re-took the lead in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI hit from catcher Chris Taladay before the lightning came.

Starter Nick Petree has pitched all eight innings for the Bears, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out five.
