Okklahoma got a brilliant pitching performance from National Player of the Year Keilani Ricketts in shutting out the top-seeded California Golden Bears 3-0 on Friday in the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
Ricketts matched her season best in strikeouts with 16 and surrendered just two hits. The Sooners scored single runs in the third and fourth and sixth innings on their way to the win, their second in the WCWS, Ricketts drive in one of OU’s three runs.
OU is now just one win away from playing for the national championship in softball. They will not play again until Sunday, when they will play the winner of the game between Alabama and Arizona State.
