Five Big 12 Teams Finish In The Top Ten In NCAA Outdoor Track & Field

Texas A&M had won both the men’s and women’s NCAA Track and Field Championships for three year’s running coming into this year’s championship.

Third was the best the Aggie men and women could do this year, but A&M still led all Big 12 teams participating in the 2012 NCAA Championship held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa..

The big surprise was the fourth-place finish of the Kansas women, their highest finish ever in an NCAA outdoor meet. The Oklahoma women came in seventh overall.

Texas finished second best among the Big 12 men’s teams and tied for ninth overall.

Big 12 participants won five individual or relay titles and had 17 top-three finishes.
