The legal issues just won’t go away for former Denver Broncos defensive back Perrish Cox. After a long, drawn out legal affair in which he was acquitted of any wrongdoing in a sexual assault case filed against him, he is now facing the same charges in civil court along with current Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.
The former Oklahoma State star was first arrested by police in December of 2010 after a woman says she was drugged and then assaulted in Cox’s apartment. He was found not guilty in early March of this year, but the drama clearly is not over. From the Associated Press report:
“On behalf of our client, the victim, we will prosecute and prove these charges in a court of law,” Silverman said in an email sent to The Associated Press. Silverman said he would decline further comment, adding that the documents filed in the case speak for themselves.
Cox is now a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
