The third round of the 2012 U.S. Open is underway with the lower half of the leaderboard taking the field first and so far the Olympic Club is eating the golfers alive as these pros are struggling to make par. Currently there are seven golfers on the course who have managed be under par, and eight others are shooting an even par. Of those golfers, 10 of them are have not even completed their first nine holes.
The one golfer who has managed to stay under par for their round is Angel Cabrera. Cabrera is currently at 2-under par through 16 holes, and is 6-over for the tournament. Cabrera has birdies on the fourth, five and 13th holes while only having one bogey which came on hole No. 9.
There are still over 20 golfers who have not taken the course yet, and that includes Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk and David Toms; all three are tied for first at 1-under par and will tee off at 5:05 p.m. CT. At that time we will see how these leaders fair on this difficult course.
