Kansas City Royals Roster Moves: Chris Getz Placed On Disabled List

Kansas City Royals infielder Chris Gretz has been placed on the disabled list Monday with a lateral strain in his lower leg and right-handed reliever Nate Adcock was sent to Triple-A Omaha, the team reported.

Getz went down in Sunday's game against the Cardinals when he tried to field a ground ball. He didn't return to the game. This is especially disappointing for Getz since he just came off the disabled list six days ago after missing 17 games with a left ribcage contusion.

Adcock pitched two scoreless outings against the Cardinals, going 1 1/3 innings on Saturday and an inning on Sunday. He has a 3.12 ERA in 26 innings on the season.Kansas City brought up right-handed pitcher Louis Coleman and left-hander Tommy Hottovy from Omaha, both of whom will be available for Monday's series opener with the Astros at Minute Maid Park.

These roster moves give Kansas City a 14-man pitching staff.
