Royals Vs. Rays: Four-Run Third Has KC Leading 4-2 Through 4 Innings

The Royals used a big third inning to take an early lead against the Rays on Tuesday night.

Kansas City trailed 2-0 after the Rays scored once in the first and second innings. Jarrod Dyson led off the bottom of the third with a single. He was scored by the next batter when Alcides Escobar doubled to center and Tampa Bay shortstop Sean Rodriguez committed a throwing error. Another error by Rodriguez allowed Alex Gordon to reach safely and Escobar to score. Yuniesky Betancourt followed with a two-run homer to give the Royals a 4-2 lead before an out was recorded in the third.

Through four, Royals starter Bruce Chen has allowed four hits and the two runs, one of which was earned. He also has struck out four.
