Former Mizzou Star Aldon Smith Stabbed At Party In San Jose

The NFL offseason is that time that coaches and front offices cross their fingers and hope not to hear news about any of their players. Unfortunately for the San Francisco 49ers, they had a major worry come out last night. Police were called to a house party in San Jose of approximately 100-plus people after getting reports of gun shots. It turns out that three people were injured including Smith, who was reportedly stabbed. The good news is that it seems it's not serious.

The 49ers' general manager Trent Baalke said "[Smith] incurred minor injuries during an incident last night" and that "we are in contact with Aldon, and thankful that his injuries were not more serious and that he is recovering comfortably."

"It was pretty chaotic when law enforcement arrived," Sgt. Jose Cardoza said. "There were at least 100 people, and there was a lot of alcohol involved. Everyone was confused, everyone heard gunshots, heard commotion. But nobody knew where the gunshots were coming from. Amongst all the chaos, there were a couple of gunshot victims in the crowd and a stabbing victim."

Smith set a rookie sack record last season for the 49ers with 14.
