Kansas City Chiefs Announce New Local Art Initiative

The Kansas City Chiefs are launching several initiatives this year to help commemorate and celebrate their 50th anniversary as a team. The fan has already announced some incredible fan giveaways including a new Nike personalized jersey for every season ticket holder. Now the team is partnering with local artists to kick off the Kansas City Chiefs Art Program. From the press release:

In conjunction with leading members of the Kansas City business and arts communities, the Hunt family and the Chiefs will assemble a world-class collection of artwork in select spaces at Arrowhead Stadium produced by artists from the surrounding region including Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Sharron Hunt Munson, a member of the founding family of the Chiefs and Lamar Hunt's only daughter, will direct the program designed to help promote regional culture, provide educational opportunities for the youth of Kansas City and engage the community in a way that touches individuals of all ages and walks of life. She will be joined on the project by her siblings: Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, Lamar Hunt, Jr. and Daniel Hunt.

"Our family is excited to begin this art program at Arrowhead Stadium to commemorate the Chiefs first 50 years in Kansas City," Sharron Hunt Munson said. "Arrowhead is not only a great venue for football, but is also an iconic entertainment destination in the Midwest. We are looking forward to working with local and regional artists to display artwork at Arrowhead that celebrates the Midwestern culture that the Chiefs and our family have been proud to be a part of for the last five decades."
