2012 British Open: The World's Best Golfers Atop The Leaderboard

The first round of the 2012 British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes is in the books and it's no surprise that some of golf's biggest names have their names atop the leaderboard after Thursday's opening round.

American Zach Johnson is currently tied for second after shooting a five-under par, 65 on the day. Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods are both tied for sixth place after shooting a three-under par, 67 on Thursday.

South Africa's Ernie Els is also tied with Woods and Watson for third place along with American Steve Stricker and Ireland's Rory McIlroy.

Round two of the four day tournament begins on Friday and you can bet that these juggernauts in the game of golf will all be jockeying for position to try and put themselves in position to win on Saturday and in Sunday's final.
