Royals Vs. Mariners Final Score: Kansas City's Comeback Falls Short, Lose To Seattle 4-3

The Kansas City Royals comeback attempt fell short as they lost to the Seattle Mariners 4-3. Seattle got out to a 3-1 lead after scoring three runs in the bottom of the third inning when Jesus Montero hit a two-run home run, and then Miguel Olivo hit a RBI single.

The scoring would be silent until the top of the eighth inning when the Royals made it a one-run game as Alcides Escobar hit a RBI triple, but the Mariners responded in the bottom of half of the inning to go up once again by two runs. Mike Carp put the Mariners up 4-2 on a simple sacrifice fly that scored Chone Figgins.

The Royals made one last attempt in the top of the ninth to get back in this game. They scored one run on a Lorenzo Cain triple to make it 4-3. With Cain on third base the Royals had the tying run in scoring position, but Alex Gordon ended the game by grounding out to first base
