Royals Vs. Mariners Preview: Sunday Game Time, TV Info And More

The Kansas City Royals look to stop their four game losing streak as they finish up their four-game series against the Seattle Mariners this afternoon from Safeco Field. The Mariners have taken the first three games of the set, including a 4-3 win over the Royals on Saturday night.

Will Smith (2-3, 6.26 ERA) will be on the mound for the Kansas City, hoping to replicate his last start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Smith was almost untouchable, giving up only two hits and one run in seven innings of work. The rookie left-hander's second stint in the majors has gone significantly better than his first, seeing his ERA drop by almost three points in his two starts since being called up on July 19.

Seattle will counter with ace Felix Hernandez (9-5, 2.80 ERA), who has been on a major run over the past six weeks. Hernandez has given up two earned runs or less in seven of his last eight starts dating back to June 17, going 5-0 in that stretch. In his last start against the New York Yankees, Hernandez got the win after giving up four hits and two runs in 7-1/3 innings of work.
