Olympic glory can come in a moment's notice when it's least expected, yet it can also be taken away just as quickly. Ryan Lochte made himself an instant household name just yesterday with the win over Michael Phelps and the rest of the field to earn a gold medal for the United States in the men's 400m Individual Medley. Today he choked away the gold medal for the U.S. as he faded down the stretch and the French team overtook him to win the 4x100m Relay.
Lochte mentioned earlier that he was tired during a qualifying round from celebrating out too late with his family. Perhaps that played into things as you can clearly see him in the lead for the United States below in this video only to fall back in the very final stretch. Here's the complete vid below:
