Kansas Hires New Men's Golf Coach From Colorado State

The Kansas Jayhawks have found their new men’s golf coach in Jamie Bermel, former coach at Colorado State. The good news is that he comes with an incredible track record of success for over the last decade with CSU, and Kansas Athletic Director Sheahon Zenger sounded excited with his announcement of the addition.

"We have found an incredible coach to lead our men’s golf program," Zenger said in a press release. "Jamie led his team to 12 NCAA appearances in the last 13 years. That’s a great track record and one that we will be happy to bring to the University of Kansas. I am excited about the future of Kansas men’s golf and encourage all Jayhawks to welcome Jamie and his family."

Bermel was also pleased with the transition apparently.

"I couldn’t be more excited to be the next men’s golf coach at the University of Kansas," Bermel said. "KU is such a great school that plays in a great conference. I think this is an awesome opportunity for me professionally and I can’t wait to move my family to Lawrence and get started."

Bermel has previously worked with Zach Johnson, who won the Masters in 2007 and current PGA Tour pro Martin Laird.
