The Royals will wrap up the first half of the MLB season with a trip to struggling Detroit, who now trail the White Sox by 4.5 games in the NL Central, and look to make up ground at the expense of Kansas City, who had lost five of their last six games before closing their series against Toronto with a win on Thursday. The Royals will start Jonathan Broxton, who was shelled in his last outing, allowing 10 hits and six walks, and six runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Twins.
