London Olympics 2012: Spain Defeats Russia, Advances To Gold Medal Game

Spain has a chance to play either Team USA or Argentina on Sunday in the gold medal round of the London Olympics after coming from behind to beat Russia on Friday, 67-59.

Russia led by 11 at halftime, but Spain outscored Russia, 26-15, to tie the game going into the fourth quarter. Spain took control of the scoreboard with a 3-pointer from Jose Calderon with 7:21 left to play, which jump started a 14-1 run to bury the Russians.

Pau Gasol (NOT traded in the Dwight Howard deal) led the way for Spain with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Calderon chipped in 14 points of his own, which included four 3s.

Spain awaits the winner between Team USA and Argentina, while Russia will face the loser in Sunday's gold medal round.
