Team USA Vs. Spain Score: Kevin Durant, U.S. Lead Spain 59-58 At Halftime

Team USA carries a 59-58 lead over Spain into halftime of the Gold Medal game at the 2012 London Olympics. Kevin Durant has 17 points to lead the Americans who saw Spain mount a rally in the closing minutes of the first half.

Kevin Love has nine points and six rebounds off the bench for Team USA while LeBron James has eight points, six rebounds and three assists. Juan Carlos Navarro has 19 points to lead all scorers while Rudy Fernandez has 12.

Both teams spent a great deal of time during the first half upset with the officiating. Spain's Marc Gasol picked up his fourth foul of the first half late in the second quarter. That should take him out of the equation for at least the start of the second half.

Both teams combined for 33 fouls in the first half with 39 free throws attempted. Spain is 19 of 21 from the free throw line and also hit 7 of 13 three point attempts. Team USA was hurt by dribble penetration from Spain's guards in the second quarter and needs to emerge from the locker room focused defensively for the second half.
