Offensive tackle prospect Joey Bloomfield will play football for the Kansas Jayhawks, an announcment he made via via Twitter on Sunday evening.
Bloomfield, a 6'6, 300-pound senior from Louisville, Ky., is listed as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com and and Scout.com. He accepted the offer from Kansas over offers from Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Houston, San Diego State, UT-Martin and Wyoming.
There's a chance Bloomfield is joining what could be a stout front group down the line. New coach Charlie Weis has set his sights high on offensive line recruits, previously targeting 2014 likely-five-star recruit Braden Smith, who also holds offers from Oklahoma, Ohio State, Iowa, Nebraska, TCU, Kansas State, South Carolina, Missouri, Michigan, Stanford and more. Smith would be a huge get for a Jayhawks rebuilding program, but it appears Weis is using his cache to recruit along the trenches, which is never a bad place to start.
