K-State Hires New Baseball Hitting Coach Mike Clement

Kansas State's baseball program announced today the hiring of a new hitting coach Mike Clement who has the program energized and excited about the skills that he brings and his ties to Texas. In a state rich with talent, the move should help the Wildcats in multiple ways.

Clement's predecessor, John Szefc, left to become the head coach at the University of Maryland. Clement comes from Texas A&M over the last three seasons.

"I am very pleased to add Mike Clement to our coaching staff," head coach Brad Hill said. "Most importantly, Mike brings continuity to our program as he has worked with Andy Sawyers, one of our former assistant coaches, for the past two seasons, and he will bring the same offensive philosophies that we've been running for several years.

"He has extensive championship experience in his seven-year career as a Division I coach, he is familiar with the Big 12 after being at Texas A&M the past three seasons, and he also has experience running an offense."
