Oriol Rosell, Sporting KC's newest midfielder, made his debut against DC United last weekend. The Spaniard is familiar with Sporting KC's 4-3-3 formation and thinks the similarity in style will help him adjust to Stateside play:
"The style of play that they put in training is basically the same as it is in Barcelona," Rosell said of Sporting KC. "A lot of teams, more and more here in America, are putting in that style of play. I’m happy, because it didn’t take me that long to adjust and I get to enjoy the game better."
Rosell was signed Aug. 2 after spending six years with FC Barcelona, and is now the only Spaniard currently playing in Major League Soccer. Rosell is a graduate of Barcelona's La Masia youth academy, and played last year in the Spanish second division.
