Karviar Shepherd, a 6-foot-10, 225-pound senior center from Texas, has listed the Kansas Jayhawks among his schools for 2013 recruiting class, according to Rivals.com.
The four-star center from Grace Prep High in Arlington, Texas, looks to be staying close to home, as his other finalists include Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, SMU, Marquette and LSU.
Shepherd told KayhawkSlant.com he visited with Kansas last summer.
"Kansas is a great school," Shepherd said. "I took a visit to Kansas last summer and it’s a great campus ... my relationship with the coaching staff is good. I know that I’ll get back to Kansas for a visit. I do plan to take some visits and I’ll know more about those visits next week."
Rivals lists Shepherd as the No. 34 overall player nationally for the 2013 class. He told the site he hopes to sign in the fall.
