The New York Red Bulls pay a visit to Sporting KC this Sunday, Aug. 26, in a showdown between the first and second place teams in the MLS Eastern Conference Table.
Sporting KC, at 46 points, has a narrow two point advantage over New York heading into Sunday's contest, and are enjoying a three-match winning streak.
Last Saturday, Aug. 18, they went on the road and defeated Toronto FC, 1-0, on Kei Kamara's goal in the 83rd minute. It was the forward's team-leading ninth goal of the season.
The Red Bulls are enjoying a two-match winning streak of their own, defending home turf with victories over the Houston Dynamo on Friday, Aug. 10, and Portland Timbers last Sunday, Aug. 19.
The win over the Timbers came after falling behind 2-0 in the first half. Kenny Cooper, Tim Cahill and Heath Pearce all notched goals in the comeback.
