Silver Medalist Erik Kynard To Speak At K-State Thursday

Erik Kynard not only became the first Kansas State athlete to medal in the Olympics since 2004 when he took home a silver medal in the high jump during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, but he also ended a long losing streak for the Americans in his event by becoming the first American male to take home a high jump prize since the same year.

Now, Kynard will be speaking at Kansas State on Thursday in a media conference that is going to be streamed live via K-StateHD.TV. The former NCAA champion will speak to the media at 1:30 p.m., answering questions about his performance in London.

Kynard has had fairly high media exposure since winning his medal -- not only did he get a parade in his honor in his hometown of Toledo, but he appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, as well as the Today Show following his Olympic performance.
