Missouri junior F Alyssa Diggs was named the College Sports Madness SEC Player of the Week, as well as CollegeSoccer360.com's Primetime Player's list after scoring three goals in Missouri's first two games of the 2012 season.
Missouri (2-0) defeated No. 11-ranked Memphis 5-1 in its season-opener, and topped UC-Santa Barbara 2-0. Both games were played in Columbia.
The victories propelled Missouri to the No. 13 overall ranking in the Soccer America Poll, as well as the No. 2 rank in the South Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Diggs, a native of Coppell, Tex., was All-Big 12 as a sophomore, scoring four goals and adding four assists for the Tigers, who finished 13-8-1 overall, losing to Texas A&M in the Big 12 semifinals and failing to secure an NCAA Tournament at-large bid.
The Tigers will travel to Berkeley, Ca., to take on California Aug. 26 before returning to Columbia for a game against Arizona State Aug. 31.
