2012 U.S. Open Scores: Play Suspended Due To Rain In New York

Early on in the proceedings, play has been suspended at the U.S. Open due to downpours in New York. Only four games have been completed so far, all Women's Singles matches. The biggest result so far came when unranked Czech Lucie Hradecka beat No. 27 ranked Anabel Medina Garrigues by a score of 6-3, 6-3.

If the rain lets up soon and allows the first round of games to finish, it will be about the time for all the big names to begin their games. No. 1 overall Roger Federer's match against American Donald Young will be in the second round of matches, as will No. 3 overall Andy Murray's match against Russian Alex Bogomolov Jr..

Kansas resident Jack Sock will also play his first match against Florian Mayer in the second string of games.
