Kansas, Rutgers Agree To Two-Year Football Series

The Charlie Weis era at Kansas will head to the New York / New Jersey area at least once (well, if it lasts that long). Kansas and Rutgers have agreed to a home-and-home football series in the 2015 and 2018 seasons. Kansas will travel to High Point Solutions Stadium in 2015, and host the Scarlet Knights in Lawrence in '18.

The move comes for two programs with very different futures - as a member of the newly reconstituted Big 12, Kansas' future is as steady as they come, with the Jayhawks playing a nine-game conference schedule in a round robin format for the foreseeable future. Rutgers, however, is still in the very tumultuous Big East, and looking to boost their non-conference strength of schedule. While Kansas has been at the basement of the FBS in recent years, their Big 12 status alone can boost the Knights' profile.
