Collin Klein Named Big 12 Player Of Week

Kansas State Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after leading his squad to a 52-13 victory against the Miami Hurricanes. Klein went 9-of-11 passing for 210 yards on Saturday to go with 71 rushing yards. He scored three touchdowns on the ground and also hit receiver Curry Sexton for a 27-yard touchdown pass.

The honor is Klein's second. He won the Big 12 Player of the Week award last season against Texas A&M, when the Wildcats needed 103 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns from their quarterback to pull off a 53-50 quadruple-overtime victory. Klein also had 287 yards through the air in that 2011 classic.

Overall, the Kansas State offense was dominant against the Hurricanes. Kansas State won the time of possession battle by more than 14 minutes and converted 8-of-11 third down tries.

Iowa State linebacker Jake Knott earned the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honor while cornerback and punt returner Deante' Gray of TCU took home the honor for special teams.
