Kansas Basketball Loses Recruit Cat Barber To North Carolina State

Bill Self is usually a man who gets what he wants, at least when it comes to the basketball recruiting trail. However a recent Kansas Jayhawks recruit has decided to stay closer to home in five-star prospect Anthony 'Cat' Barber. The winning school instead is North Carolina State, whose program becomes a lot stronger with Barber's arrival.

Barber visited Kansas a few weeks ago and placed the Jayhawks among his top three schools. However, it wasn't enough to land him with the distance and clearly the visit was not as strong as it needed to be.

Barber is ranked No. 9 on Rivals overall list of 2013 basketball prospects. The Jayhawks still have a tremendous class coming in next season in addition to the seven overall freshmen they will have this season.
