Oklahoma State took a 44-0 lead into the half on Saturday, and put it into cruise control as the second string capped off the easy victory. OSU fans were understandably happy, and the reaction to the win can be found over at Cowboys Ride For Free.
Freshman quarterback Wes Lunt left the game very early on, and the Cowboys' fans were worried. J.W. Walsh stepped in and performed very well though, just look at the reaction to the redshirt freshman's performance from OSU fans:
Then in stepped the 2nd string guy. The guy coaches said had "it." The Elite 11 guy that redshirted last year, anticipating taking the helm of this prolific offense until Weeden reincarnated showed up as an 18 yr old HS freshman and edged him out. He could have transferred...he didn't. He could have mailed it in, knowing that Wes Lunt was the man...he didn't.
BOY, are we glad he didn't.
JW Walsh may have single-handedly saved Oklahoma State's season.
We'll be awaiting word about the severity of the knee injury suffered by Lunt, but yesterday''s game would suggest that the Cowboys will be in good hands if he's out for a while. If nothing else, OSU fans seem confident in their backup.
OSU will be in action again on Sept 29 when the Texas Longhorns come to town. Texas defeated Ole Miss 66-31 on Saturday.
