Kansas Volleyball's Winning Streak Ends With Loss To Notre Dame

The Kansas Jayhawks volleyball team dropped to 11-2 this season with a 3-1 (22-25, 26-24, 25-23, 29-27) loss to Notre Dame on Sunday at the Fighting Irish's Golden Dome Invitational. The loss snapped the Jayhawks' nine-game winning streak, which tied the fourth-longest in school history.

Caroline Jarmoc led the Kansas attack with 15 kills. Erin McNorton was responsible for 54 of Kansas' 56 assists. Brianne Riley led three Jayhawks with double figures in digs. Riley had 16, Tiana Dockery had 15 and Jaime Mathieu collected 10.

Toni Alugbue had 20 kills and 10 digs to lead the Irish. Taylor Morey finished with 17 digs, and Maggie Brindock had 51 of Notre Dame's 60 assists.

Despite the loss, Kansas was crowned champion of the Golden Dome Invitational. The Jayhawks' next game is on Wednesday, when they host Creighton. Big 12 action begins on Saturday with a trip to Texas Tech to face the Red Raiders.
