Former Mizzou Star Aldon Smith Involved In Car Accident Before 49ers-Lions Game

Former Missouri Tigers defensive standout Aldon Smith was apparently involved in a serious car accident that involved one person suffering a broken back and Smith himself requiring stitches just two days before Sunday's game featuring the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. From the Sacramento Bee:

The unidentified driver of the BMW was transported to San Jose Regional Medical Center with what the CHP described as a "broken back." Smith suffered a cut above his eye that required stitches. He was driven to Stanford Hospital, the 49ers' team facility, where he was treated. Smith played every defensive snap of Sunday's game and finished with seven tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit.

Even after the incident, Smith's stellar day speaks to his incredible ability on the field and head coach Jim Harbaugh's knowledge of how best to utilize the pass rusher. Smith is apparently okay and we can only hope the same for the others involved.
