Oklahoma City Thunder players DeAndre Liggins and Hollis Thompson took some time out on Tuesday to read to kids at Greystone Elementary. They both read from a children's book called "J is for Jumpshot," an alphabetical book with a basketball theme. Ms. Whithorn's kindergarten class really seemed to enjoy the experience.
Liggins and Thompson are participating in Thunder Reading Time Out, presented by American Family Assurance Company. The program gets Thunder players out in the community to help teach children about the importance of reading. The kids took the Reading Oath, where they commit to reading not just for school, but also at home. At the end of the day, the two players answered questions from the kids, took pictures, and handed out a hardcover copy of "Clifford the Big Red Dog."
