One of the most intriguing rivalries in the NFL renews Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs host the San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium. When San Diego visited Kansas City last season, the Chargers were driving for a late go-ahead field goal when quarterback Philip Rivers fumbled a snap to the Chiefs. Kansas City ran out the clock, then won the game in overtime.
This year's contest could be even more interesting, as neither team has consistently shown what they will be in 2012. The Chiefs were sleepwalking through early losses to Atlanta and Buffalo before rebounding to upset New Orleans in the Superdome last Sunday. The Chargers looked like the class of the AFC West in wins over Oakland and Tennessee, but were blown out by Atlanta at home in Week 3.
Kansas City has again been struck with the injury bug, with starting center Rodney Hudson being declared out for the season with a broken leg. Wide receiver Dexter McCluster and backup halfback Peyton Hillis are also questionable after sustaining injuries during the New Orleans game. San Diego cornerback Quentin Jammer, who had missed time for injury earlier this season, fully participated in practice this week and will play.
