The Kansas State women's volleyball team defeated Utah State 25-22, 25-23, 25-18 Saturday night, extending their record to 9-0 and setting the program record for consecutive wins to start a season. Kaitlyn Pelger recorded 11 kills and 12 digs for Kansas State. The Wildcat win came despite Utah State firing seven aces. Head coach Suzie Fritz identified the Wildcats' response to opposing serves as a potential weakness:
↵↵↵"They put an enormous amount of pressure on us with their serving. Saint Mary's did the same thing. We felt like we were prepared for it, but when it came right down to it, we were not as prepared. In the long run, it will be good for us to have somebody get after us and respond from that and recover from it."
↵
Pelger is happy with the Wildcats' start, but says the team isn't content with a hot start:
↵↵↵"It is awesome, a 9-0 start. I am at a loss for words right now, but we still want to get better," Pelger said. "We did not play to our best ability tonight, which sounds funny since we won in three games, but we want to do more than just win," Pelger said. "We want to be better. This coming week we are facing some tough teams, so we are super excited."
