2013 NBA All-Star Weekend: NBA superstars head to Houston

The biggest stars of the NBA are on their way to Houston for NBA All-Star weekend. The events technically begin on Thursday, but most of the action starts Friday.

While the game itself caps the weekend, it is only one of several noteworthy events. Some of of the league's brightest young stars will be on display in the Rising Stars Challenge while other NBA stars will partake in the skills challenge, three-point contest and slam dunk contest.

The marquee events begin Friday night with the Rising Star Challenge at 8 p.m. CT on TNT. The rosters feature many of the top young players in the league including 2012 No. 1 pick Anthony Davis. Other notable players include Kyrie Irving, Ricky Rubio, Kenneth Faried and Klay Thompson.

Saturday night features a few notable events as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night. The events begin at 7:30 p.m. CT with the shooting stars event. The skills challenge will follow the shooting stars. The three-point contest will be up next followed by the final event of the night, the slam dunk contest. Jeremy Evans will attempt to defend his slam dunk title against a group of competitors which includes Gerald Green, Terrence Ross, James White, Eric Bledsoe and Kenneth Faried.

The All-Star game will cap the weekend on Sunday with tip scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. The complete schedule for the weekend can be found below.
