Heisman Trophy Watch 2012: Collin Klein now 20/1 longshot

Despite once being the frontrunner for the award, Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein is now a 20/1 shot to win the Heisman Trophy.

US PRESSWIRE

Kansas St. Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein was at one point the prohibitive favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. That time has passed, though, and Klein is now a 20/1 longshot to take home the trophy, according to Oddsshark.com. Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is a 1/10 favorite, and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o has odds of 7/2.

Klein's chances to win the Heisman took a big hit when Kansas State lost to Baylor on Nov. 17. The Wildcats were in line for a berth in the BCS Championship Game, but the 52-24 loss knocked them out of the race. Klein had three interceptions against a Baylor defense that was previously quite poor, and that plus the loss was enough to take him out of the lead for the Heisman.

The Wildcats will face the Oregon Ducks in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. The game is scheduled for Jan. 3, with an 8:30 p.m. ET kick.
