James Young deciding between Kentucky, Kansas basketball and others

Kansas recruit James Young to make decision on Thursday.

Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

James Young is a 6'6 shooting guard from Rochester Hills, Mich. who has a number of elite basketball programs pursuing him, including Kansas. Young will announce his college of choice on Thursday, according to ESPNU's Paul Biancardi.

Young is a five-star recruit, according to Rivals.com, who rates Young as the eighth prospect overall in the class of 2013. Young is making no secret of his ultimate reason for attending whichever school he chooses:

"I’m just looking for my best college, the one that’s going to get me one-and-done and give me the best opportunity to get out there," he said.

Young has been profuse in his praise for Kentucky and John Calipari. Andrew and Aaron Harrison, twins out of Texas who are both rated in the top five nationwide by most recruiting services and who both committed to Kentucky last week, have reportedly been in contact with Young and encouraging him to come to Lexington. Young has made an unofficial visit to Kentucky. Michigan State and Syracuse have also been in on his recruitment.
