The Kansas City Chiefs rushing game has looked excellent all game against the Jacksonville Jaguars as the Chiefs have rolled out to a 14-10 lead in the first half.
What's surprising is the passing game. Matt Cassel has just six pass attempts but on the Chiefs last drive -- spanning 14 plays and over eight minutes -- he completed all three pass attempts for 51 yards. The passing game is non-existent other than that drive.
The Jaguars responded on the following drive taking it down to the Chiefs one yard line. The Jaguars benefited from a pass interference call on Chiefs' Brandon Carr putting the ball on the one yard line. The Chiefs held them to a field goal despite the 1st and goal placement.
The Chiefs running backs are looking very good as well. Thomas Jones' day has been highlighted by a 70-yard run in the first half. He has 107 in the first half. Meanwhile it's Dexter McCluster and not Jamaal Charles who is the second leading rusher with 30 yards on three carries.
The goal moving into the next half should be getting Charles involved more and ditto for Cassel.
Impressive that the Chiefs have passed it just six times in the first half and they have two touchdowns. You think KC likes that running game?
