Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Chris Chambers Could Be An Option

Kansas City Chiefs WR Chris Chambers may be an option for you off of the fantasy football waiver wire in Week 8. Chambers hasn't done much at all this season -- just seven catches for 76 yards -- but there are indications he could be in for some more looks on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Here are a few reasons I think Chambers could be a solid play in fantasy football Week 8.

Dexter McCluster may not play. McCluster is nursing an ankle injury and if he can't play then there's an opportunity for someone else to get a few looks. That person could be Chambers considering the Chiefs don't have many options at receiver.

Working Chambers back into the lineup. He's been inactive the last two weeks although we think he'll be ready to go on Sunday. He had a slight finger injury although Chiefs head coach Todd Haley indicated he was a healthy scratch. The Chiefs need/want him to be a contributor so I wouldn't be shocked if they went after him a few times this week to make that happen.

Matt Cassel is playing well. One of the reasons some of the Chiefs receivers aren't considered fantasy options is because the Chiefs passing game hasn't been going well. Over the last few weeks, it's improved drastically to the point where you might want to think about Chiefs receivers. They're likely not going after 100 yard games but I can see Cassel throwing a couple touchdown passes.

The focus on Dwayne Bowe. Bowe has caught four TDs in the last two games so you gotta imagine the Bills are going to load up on him. That would leave Chambers with some nice coverages.

He's due. OK this is kind of a weak reason since "He's due" has no legitimate evidence to back it up. But Chambers was a big contributor for the Chiefs last year. He needs to have a big game. At some point he will. Maybe it's this week.
