The Kansas City Chiefs are getting absolutely embarrassed against the Denver Broncos. The score at halftime: 35-10.
The Broncos went 80 and 82 yards on their first drives and it was way too easy for them. Kyle Orton flung the ball around with ease as the Broncos moved to a 21-0 first quarter lead. Orton ended the first quarter with 146 yards and three TD passes. The Broncos are even able to rush the ball which they haven’t done much of this season. Knowshon Moreno is the leading rusher with 67 yards on eight carries. The Broncos fourth TD came off of a Matt Cassel fumble returned for a touchdown (75 yards). Their fifth TD came courtesy of a Tim Tebow goal line run.
Offensively the Chiefs started to move the ball late in the second half. Matt Cassel has completed 12-of-16 passes for 169 yards and one TD. The Chiefs went 83 yards in 9 plays in 4:20 for their first score of the game with 1:28 left in the half. The Broncos attempted a field goal with less than a minute left in the first half and it was short so Eric Berry, back deep in case of a return, took it back 79 yards to put the Chiefs in field goal range. Ryan Succop added the score making it 35-10.
The Chiefs leading receiver at the half is Dwayne Bowe with five receptions for 66 yards. Verran Tucker has one reception for 38 yards and Tony Moeaki added 34 yards.
If the Chiefs are going to come back it would be because of a miracle. They’re simply getting outplayed and making too many mistakes to hang with the Broncos right now.
