The Kansas City Chiefs are ranked 17th in SB Nation's Week 11 NFL power rankings. As I explained before, I expected them to come in around 15-18. After looking at all the teams, I settled on 17th.
For a quick review, here's some teams that are better than or equal to the Chiefs record: Patriots, Jets, Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Giants, Eagles, Packers, Bears, Falcons, Saints, Bucs, Dolphins, Jaguars, Titans, Raiders and Seahawks.
I put the Jaguars and Seahawks behind the Chiefs. The Chiefs have beaten Jacksonville and I think KC is better than Seattle (but we'll find out in a couple weeks). I also put the Chargers ahead of the Chiefs, despite being 4-5. The Chargers have won two impressive games in a row while the Chiefs have lost two in a row. The Chargers are starting to heat up, I'm afraid, so we'll see if they can continue what has become an annual midseason winning streak.
The Chiefs, at 5-4 and two consecutive losses, fit well at No. 17. They're not among the worst teams in the league but they're far from proving they're a top 10 team.
KC has a lot of work to do to get the faith of the media again -- which doesn't really matter -- and they can start by beating the Arizona Cardinals at home next week.
