Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe is off to an impressive touchdown streak that has him tied with Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson and New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks atop the NFL in receiving touchdowns. That's big for Bowe who is coming off of a rough 2009 campaign.
For fantasy football purposes, Bowe is definitely worth taking a look at. The Chiefs generally don't pass for tons of yards -- last weeks' 469 wasn't normal -- so don't expect Bowe to be hauling in 100-plus yard receiving games.
But here's what he does do: catch touchdowns. Yes, Bowe has been on quite the touchdown streak recently that's making his stock rise.
He's caught 2, 1, 1, 2, and 2 touchdowns for a total of eight touchdowns in his last five games. On the season, he has a career high nine touchdowns. Last week against the Denver Broncos, he had 13 receptions, one shy of the Chiefs franchise record.
He has just 39 receptions for a respectable 606 yards but those nine touchdowns are valuable and I expect they'll rise going forward. Matt Cassel has found some sort of connection with Bowe, which is evident over the last five weeks.
Bowe's stock is rising but he may be worth considering for fantasy football purposes because he seems to be getting better with Cassel.
