Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli has shown us fairly quickly that he likes the SEC. The most powerful football conference sent a few players to Kansas City in the 2010 NFL draft including S Eric Berry, WR Dexter McCluster, CB Javier Arenas and S Kendrick Lewis. Pioli's scouts were working on the 2011 NFL draft this weekend in the SEC, including Arenas' alma mater, Alabama, according to DraftInsider.net.
The New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs both had large contingents at the game. The San Francisco 49ers also had scouts present.
The first thing I notice is that those three teams run 3-4s. I'm not sure if that's an indicator of anything and it may not even be worth noting since every team in the league will scout both Alabama and Auburn.
So who could KC be looking at? I can't say I'm an expert on college football but my first reaction would be to say WR Julio Jones who is, to put it simply, awesome. But with WR Dwayne Bowe putting up incredible numbers this year you start to wonder where exactly the Chiefs would be looking to upgrade.
