NFL power rankings for Week 13 are starting to filter in and the Kansas City Chiefs are, for the most part, on the cusp of top 10 status. The Chiefs beat dominated the Seahawks on Sunday and it was in Seattle so KC has a nice road victory on its resume.
So, should the Chiefs actually be a top 10 team?
Here are the teams I think that should definitely be ranked ahead of the Chiefs: New England Patriots, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
Those teams, in my mind, are clearly better than KC and should be ranked ahead of them. There are, however, a few more obstacles for KC to pass in order to reach top 10 status. Are they better than these teams: Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
I think you can make a case that the Eagles and Bears are better at this point. Even with the Eagles coming off of a loss, they've been a hot team. The Bears don't seem like an 8-3 team but give them credit for continuing to win. The Bucs haven't beaten any good teams but, then again, they don't make the schedule.
I think KC has an argument to be in the top 10 but just as easily they have an argument to be No. 11, 12 or 13.
