The Kansas City Chiefs are three point underdogs (depending on where you look) against the Oakland Raiders at the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum on Sunday. NFL picks for Week 9 are starting to come in and some predictions are indicating a Raiders victory. The Raiders have been on fire lately putting up 33 and 59 points in the last two weeks. Are they for real? Peter King of SI.com seems to think so:
Covered this league for a long time. Not sure I've ever seen a team go from losing to weaklings Arizona and San Francisco in the midst of a 1-3 stretch, then beat two teams by a combined 75 points. I tend to think the Raiders might be for real. The Chiefs' hope rests on Matt Cassel, who must take advantage of either the absence of Nnamdi Asomugha or Asomugha playing at 80 percent because of a bum ankle. Gut feeling: I doubt Nnamdi plays.
His final score prediction: Raiders 20 Chiefs 12.
That would be surprising to me just like it was last week when the Chiefs rushed for over 200 yards and no touchdowns. I think that's the exception and not the rule. I like the Chiefs running backs (again) this week.
