Oakland Raiders Blackout Watch For Kansas City Chiefs Game

The Oakland Raiders have not sold out a home game since Sept. of 2009, a streak spanning 11 consecutive home games. After bringing in just 35,000 fans to the game in Week 8, the Raiders may be nearing a sell out for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

On Thursday, the team was given a 24-hour extension to sell the remaining tickets. That's generally a sign that a sell out is coming but there's been no word from the Raiders on the blackout extension.

↵

The extension is supposed to end today but it's possible the league extends it if they're that close.

If the Raiders don't sell out the game, it will be blacked out on local TV. Raiders fans have gotten used to blackouts lately but this is arguably the biggest game for Oakland since the 2002-03 season. The Raiders are in second place and hosting the first place Chiefs. An Oakland win would move them into a half game of first place.

Yes, Week 9 and Chiefs vs. Raiders is the biggest game of the week.
