Chiefs Can't Close It In Oakland, Lose In Overtime To Raiders, 23-20

New, 3 comments

The Kansas City Chiefs had plenty of opportunities to close it out against the Oakland Raiders but let them drive down the field and into field goal range with seconds remaining as Sebastian Janikowski kicked the game tying field goal. That sent the game into overtime where the Chiefs, holding the first possession, were forced to punt.

The Raiders took the ball back and after a deep Jason Campbell pass, Oakland sent Janikowski out to close it, beating the Chiefs, 23-20.

The Chiefs passing game looked good overall as Matt Cassel hit Dwayne Bowe late in the fourth quarter to take a 20-17 lead. I figured that would have ended the game if not for the Raider comeback.

The Chiefs running game had nothin' goin' all day. They didn't pass 100 yards rushing until late in the game.

The Chiefs stand at 5-3 and the Raiders at 5-4. The AFC West race isn't over yet.
